Phaser World Issue 255

Hey, creator! 🙂
We’ve been heads down on Phaser Game Agent V3 and we’re ready to share the first sneak peek. A full crew of specialist bots, a step-by-step design wizard, mood boards, concept art and mock screenshots, all before a single line of code is written. We can’t wait for you to see the final result 🪄
From the community: a math RPG running in thousands of classrooms, a Spine animation tutorial, a browser MMORPG where every spell is aimed by hand, a point-and-click adventure about a janitor in the AI apocalypse, and a 32v32 browser shooter with real-world geo drop zones.

This week:
🌟 Phaser Game Agent V3 is almost here. And it gets you the game you actually wanted.
The current agent starts from a prompt box. You describe your game, it builds something, and then you spend time correcting what didn’t quite land. V3 changes that.
A crew of 21 specialist bots — art direction, sprites, music, sound, UI, shaders — works with you to design the whole game before a single line is written. A step-by-step wizard walks you through every detail: genre, visual style, platform, reference games, mechanics. You generate mood boards, concept art and mock screenshots until it looks right. Everything lands in a game design document the build crew follows, so nothing is guesswork.
After that, a second crew builds it, playtests it, fixes what they find, and publishes it. You can watch every minute live.
If you’ve ever built something with the agent and thought “that’s not quite what I meant”, V3 is built for you! 🚀
Nobody's coming to approve your idea
People assume that real businesses get built by other people with more resources. It's how great ideas get stuck in notes apps and conversations.
But you don't need six months and a developer's salary to validate your concept. You just need a weekend. Describe what you want to exist and Lovable builds it: a real site, a real product, ready to accept real payments from real customers. Not a mockup to show people. An actual thing they can use.
You don't need anyone's sign-off to get started. Take $5 off your first month.
Discount of $5 applies to first month of any paid plan. You need to sign up via this webpage in order to claim the discount. The discount applies to new and returning users without an active paid plan. Terms apply.
🔥 Fresh From the Web
» 🎮 Interview: the UC Berkeley freshman who built a math RPG for 50,000 students
Adrian Martinez was modding Minecraft servers at 11. Now, as a UC Berkeley freshman, he’s running Infinilearn, a free multiplayer RPG where 4th to 9th graders fight monsters by solving math problems. 50,000 signups, 3,300 teachers, over 2 million problems solved. Built with Phaser, React and TypeScript on Firebase 🧙
The interview covers how math becomes the combat mechanic rather than a gate in front of it, why a $20 eBay Chromebook decides what ships, and what it’s like building a product used in thousands of classrooms while taking classes at Berkeley. The student game is free, no ads, no locked content 📚
» 🦴 Riggy: from layered PSD to rigged character in Phaser 4
Riggy is an independent AI tool that takes a layered PSD, lets you describe what should move, and rigs a Spine 4.2 skeleton with animations — idle loops, one-shots, crossfades. The export is plain JSON, atlas and texture, ready to load with the official Spine plugin for Phaser 4. Andrei built Riggy and wrote a full tutorial showing the whole path, from a cat-at-a-laptop PSD with 15 layers to a playable character in Phaser 4 🐱
The tutorial covers loading the skeleton, playing animations with proper crossfades, one-shots that return to idle, and the common errors you’ll hit along the way. Worth a read if you’ve been putting off adding Spine to a Phaser project. Note: shipping a game with Spine requires a Spine license from Esoteric Software. Riggy is independent and not affiliated 🎭
» ⚔️ NEX WAR: a free browser MMORPG where every spell is aimed by hand
NEX WAR is a top-down browser MMORPG built with Phaser by a solo dev working nights and weekends. No classes, no levels, no tab-targeting. Pick two schools of magic from seven, build from 77 spells, and aim every ability yourself. The single energy bar covers spells, dash and guard, so every point you spend attacking is a point you won’t have for surviving the answer. No pay-to-win ⚡
Three risk tiers: safe PvE, PvP where you drop your bag on death, and full loot. A player-driven economy where gold is an item you can lose. A ranked 1v1 arena, a PvPvE extraction dungeon, and world chests that spill loot on the ground for everyone to fight over. Alpha 2.0.0 just shipped. Free, no download, no sign-up 🧙
» 🧹 Hank Steele and the AI Apocalypse: a point-and-click adventure built in 14 days
Hank Steele is a janitor who accidentally travels ten years into the future, where AI has taken over the world. Armed with a mop and absolutely no qualifications, he has to navigate the apocalypse and fix a time machine. A comedic, retro-inspired point-and-click adventure built with Phaser in 14 days for a game jam, in the spirit of 1990s classics. About half an hour to play through 🤖
It’s also the first game made with BENNE, a custom adventure game engine its creator has been building, with its own VS Code editor. Still in development, playable in the browser 🕹️
» 🎯 Global Operations Drop Zone: a 32v32 browser shooter
Dropzone Go is a browser multiplayer shooter built solo with Phaser where matches take place on real-world geo drop zones tied to actual coordinates on an OpenStreetMap-based map, feeding into a persistent global territory system. Three modes: Rush, Domination, and Convoy Escort. Scales from small skirmishes up to 32v32, with bot fill so there’s always a live match to drop into 🌍
No account, no download, no setup. Drop in as a guest, pick your location, and start playing. Currently in beta, built by a solo developer who tackled scaling Phaser’s rendering and WebSocket layer to handle 64 concurrent players in a single room 🎮
