Phaser World Issue 254

In partnership with

Hey, builder! ๐Ÿ‘‹

A new community showcase just dropped with 24 Phaser games, and yes, yours might be in there ๐Ÿ‘€
The agent also picked up Opus 5.5, Grok 4.7 and 3D card games this week, and Rich Davey put the new models to the test by asking for "GTA Vice City but with voxels." The result is playable below.
Oh, and we're still cooking some very exciting things for the agent too. You're going to like what's coming ๐Ÿคญ

๐ŸŽฌ The Phaser Community Showcase is here

Our second half of 2026 community showcase is here: 24 games built with Phaser, from solo devs to small studios ๐Ÿ™‚

Some will look familiar from previous issues โ€” Cattack!, Critical Ward, Celestial Decks, Resistance Racing 2k97, Geometry Dash's web demo โ€” and a few you might not have caught yet.

Every time we put one of these together, the quality of what this community ships genuinely surprises us. Seriously ๐Ÿ’œ

๐Ÿค– The agent just got Opus 5.5, Grok 4.7 and 3D card games

Four new models in the agent picker this week. Claude Opus 5.5 takes the top spot: million-token context, priced below its predecessor, and it built a finished playable game in five minutes flat in our first test. Grok 4.7 is the cheapest and most inventive. Muse Spark 1.3 builds exactly what you asked for. Claude Sonnet 5 stays as the default. Kimi K3 is gone from the picker, but your existing games still work ๐Ÿค–

The sandbox has also been rebuilt from scratch, now running Phaser AE v2.8.1. The big addition: 3D card games. Cards that curl mid-deal, cast real shadows, and flip as a single object. Nine dealing styles, a full solitaire engine, and eight live shader effects: holographic foil, dissolve, fire, frost and more ๐Ÿƒ

๐Ÿ™๏ธ We asked the agent for "GTA Vice City but with voxels"

To put the new models and v2.8 to the test, Rich Davey built the game Neon Bay Heist. Grab $5,000 in cash, steal cars, complete optional missions, and escape by boat. Watch out for the SWAT chopper if things get out of hand. Judge for yourself what the agent can do ๐Ÿ˜Ž

The Ultimate Claude Code Guide to ship like Anthropic engineers

AI will write 90% of code by the end of 2026, and only 10% of developers will stay relevant.

The engineers in that 10% aren't smarter. They just know how to use AI.

We put together the exact playbook Anthropic engineers use to make sure you're in the top 10%.

๐Ÿ”ฅ Fresh From the Web This Week

ยป ๐ŸฅŠ Browser Boxing: a free multiplayer boxing game

Click the button, wait a couple of seconds, and you're in a ring against someone in another country. No download, no install, no launcher. A full moveset: jabs, crosses, hooks, uppercuts, high and low guard, counters and combos, all built on a stamina bar that decides how long any of it lasts ๐ŸฅŠ

Create an account and your boxer is saved: a level, XP, and stat points to spread across strength, stamina, chin, defense and speed. Ranked matchmaking, spectator mode, and a lobby to line up fights with friends. Free to play. ๐Ÿ†

ยป ๐Ÿ’ฅ BOOMBOUNCE: a retro brick breaker that's easy to play and hard to master

You play as SHIRO, assault specialist, alongside a heavy gunner, a supply robot and a pilot. The mission: destroy the invading aliens and survive 100 rounds. Tap to fire, call in support when things get heavy, manage your limited resources and special weapons ๐ŸŽฎ

Fair warning: it gets fast. Browser and Android, free to play. ๐Ÿ’ฅ

ยป โš”๏ธ Sword Duel: a pixel-art fighting game with real frame data, built with Phaser

Sword Duel is a pixel-art fighting game built with Phaser by ilyesB, and it's not a casual button-masher. Startup, active and recovery frames, proper hitboxes and hurtboxes, blockstun, hitstun, guard breaks. The fundamentals are all there for players who want footsies that actually matter โš”๏ธ

Three ways to play: local on the same keyboard, vs CPU at multiple difficulty levels, or online peer-to-peer over WebRTC with no server needed. One player shares a 4-letter room code, the other joins, and you're duelling. Free in your browser, no install ๐ŸคŒ
