Phaser World Issue 251

In partnership with

Hey, builder! ๐Ÿ‘‹

You asked for it, and here it is: your game's source code, yours to download. Every game built with the Phaser Game Agent can now be exported as TypeScript files and taken home. Plus two new models on the picker, and a teaser that's hard to ignore: Phaser AE v3 is nearly ready, and there's a brand new Game Design Agent coming with it ๐Ÿ‘€

From the community this week: a pixel art generator built specifically for game devs, a Reddit platformer where you earn coins every time a stranger dies in your trap, and a nature-restoration sim with 150 real animal species and zero image assets.

More below ๐Ÿซฐ

๐Ÿ”ฅ Fresh From the Web This Week

ยป ๐ŸŽจ Sprite Fusion is building a pixel art generator built specifically for game devs

Hugo Duprez, maker of the free Sprite Fusion tilemap editor, is training his own pixel art model from scratch. Not a filter, not a generic image generator with a pixel overlay. A model that actually understands the visual grammar of pixel art: clean outlines, grid-aligned forms, controlled palettes and animation-ready frames. Already generating sprites at 16x16, 32x32 and 64x64, plus idle, run and attack animation cycles. Still work in progress, but the gallery is worth a look ๐Ÿ•น๏ธ

Import your own sprite and animate it with a prompt, or generate from scratch and edit pixel by pixel in the built-in browser editor. Integrates directly with Phaser via Sprite Fusion's existing tilemap export. Runs on a credit system from $9/month ๐Ÿ–Œ๏ธ

ยป ๐Ÿชค Trapmakers: build a trap, get paid when strangers die

Design a deadly platformer stage, beat it yourself to prove it's fair, then publish it as a real Reddit post. Not a screenshot, not a link out. Tap it in the feed and you're playing it. The economy runs on failure: every time someone dies in your trap, you earn coins to build something nastier. Death heatmaps show exactly where everyone failed. Built in nine days with Phaser 3 for the Reddit hackathon. ๐ŸŽฎ

The hardest trap published so far lets only 5% of players survive. Be brutal in the levels, decent in the comments ๐Ÿ’€

Your voice. Every platform. No writing required.

You ghost your own socials by Wednesday. SureThing learns your voice and ships native posts to LinkedIn, X, Instagram, and TikTok, without you writing a thing.

ยป ๐ŸŒฟ Wild Willows: a nature-restoration sim where the ecology is the actual game

You start with a tent, a campfire and stripped ground. Plant what belongs, dig out the water, and the preserve fills back in on its own terms. Herbivores need the right plants. Predators only settle once there is prey. 150 real animal species, researched from Cornell Lab, the Smithsonian, the IUCN Red List and more. Six biomes, no combat, no clock, no way to fail ๐ŸฆŽ

Built with Phaser 3.90 and React, with one Phaser scene and zero image assets โ€” every sprite drawn at boot with the Graphics API. Ships with deep accessibility settings and a free public API serving all 150 species with real habitat data. Free demo in the browser, full game on the App Store and itch . io ๐ŸŒฑ

โญ Download your game's source code, plus two new models

You asked for it: every game you build with the Phaser Game Agent can now be exported as source code. Click Export, pick Source Code, and you get the TypeScript files, type definitions, and the exact version of Phaser AE it was built against. Everything the agent wrote, on your own disk. Setting up a local dev environment is on you, but if you've done it before, you'll be fine ๐Ÿ“ฆ

Two new models join the picker too. Grok 4.6 is the fastest and cheapest option yet, perfect for burning through ideas quickly. Muse Spark 1.2 has a real knack for 3D spatial reasoning: isometric levels, orbital mechanics, anything with a moving camera. And one more thing: Phaser AE v3 is nearly ready, with a brand new Game Design Agent coming with it. More very soon! ๐Ÿ‘€
