ยป 3 Ways to Make Projectiles in Phaser

Projectile attacks are a big part of how your game feels. Scott Westover breaks down three ways to build them in Phaser: particle emitters, animated sprites, and tween-driven sprite instances. No huge sprite sheets needed ๐Ÿชƒ๐Ÿซง

ยป EarthBound-Style Transparency Effect in WebGL

Ever wondered how EarthBound gets that dreamy layered look in its battle backgrounds? It's a transparency shader that blends two textures together on the GPU. Lightning fast, and you can bring it into Phaser 3. Here's how โœจ๐ŸŒ€

ยป Migrating Phaser 3 Shaders to Phaser 4

Phaser 4 replaces the Post FX pipeline with a new two-class system that makes shaders easier to manage. Learn how to migrate your Phaser 3 shaders with three practical examples: grayscale, wipe, and noise ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ๐Ÿ”€

ยป Ice Maze: English Grammar Made Fun

Ice Maze is a free browser game that turns English grammar into something students actually want to play. Built with Phaser by educator James Abela, it uses colors to teach sentence structure through maze navigation ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

No sign-up, no cost, works on desktop, tablet, and mobile. Already adopted by teachers from Malaysia to the US, and the full source code is available on GitHub ๐ŸงŠ

ยป Darkness of the Dungeon: Browser Dungeon Crawler

Darkness of the Dungeon is a browser-based dungeon crawler built with Phaser by Artem. Procedurally generated layouts, resource management, and increasing difficulty levels, all playable without plugins or additional software ๐Ÿฐ๐Ÿ•ฏ๏ธ

The project caught attention in the JavaScript community on Reddit, where developers dug into its implementation and design choices.

๐Ÿš€ Phaser 4 Dev Log: Actions.AddEffectShine is here

The last of the old FX just made it into Phaser 4. Actions.AddEffectShine replaces the original Shine effect, and it's not even close โœจ

The original was limited: one color, no angle control near horizontal or vertical, and a constant speed highlight. This one is built on the Gradient system, which means you get full angle support, color overdrive in any direction, and tween-based movement with yoyo and easing. Displacement support is in there too.

And if our settings don't cover what you need, you can dig into the individual parts and configure them however you want ๐Ÿ‘Œ
